Get under the skin of the people behind the uniform.
This one-day online workshop will transform your crime fiction writing as you learn how to create more credible police characters and produce dialogue that sounds truly authentic.
Spend the morning live with Graham finding out what makes a real police officer tick, and how the various roles, ranks and personalities interact day-to-day. You’ll become familiar with who’s who at the station, and how they communicate, formally and informally.
You’ll be joined by expert guests for a live and interactive Q&A.
Then spend the afternoon writing a piece of fiction that demonstrates what you’ve learned, and weaves in police procedure seamlessly. Graham will give one-to-one feedback on your writing and ideas in the week following the workshop.
This workshop is part of our Crime Writing: Making it Real course series with Police Advisor Graham Bartlett. It runs on UK time, but everything’s hosted in an online classroom accessible 24/7 – so you can join us from anywhere in the world or watch the recordings back.
